About UK Resilience Academy

Enabling a resilient society

The risk landscape of the UK is constantly evolving, with more diverse risks than ever before.

To protect our nation from such risks, the UK needs a community of trained professionals and individuals in civil society who have the skills and attributes to meet the challenges of a more unpredictable world.

The UKRA is committed to continually develop its offering, to keep ahead of the curve and support the nation to be better prepared for current and future risks, on a whole of society basis.

What is the UK Resilience Academy?

The UK Resilience Academy (UKRA) is the national centre for resilience learning and development. We support organisations across the whole of society to strengthen their preparedness and response capability in an increasingly complex risk landscape. From cyber threats to public health emergencies and infrastructure challenges, we build the capability needed to anticipate, respond to and recover from disruption.

We work with government, local responders, businesses, voluntary organisations and community leaders, as well as partners across Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) sectors. Our offer is designed to be relevant and accessible to all, recognising that resilience is a shared responsibility.

We equip people and organisations with the knowledge, confidence and networks needed to make a meaningful difference and contribute to a more resilient UK.

Climate Change Flooding

The UK Resilience Academy (UKRA) will act as a dynamic catalyst for building societal resilience, enhancing the training and education offer, strengthening professionalisation and fostering greater collaboration.

Who operates the UKRA?

The UK Resilience Academy is part of the Cabinet Office National Security Secretariat (NSS). It was formed ‘up and out’ from the EPC and is supported by an extended partnership between the Cabinet Office and Serco.

It is built out of our pedigree in emergency planning, which Serco have delivered on behalf of Cabinet Office for over 15 years. Find out more about the UK Resilience Academy’s role in national policy on the UK Government site
