Helen is an experienced digital learning professional with over 20 years’ experience helping people learn through engaging, accessible and effective learning solutions. She has a particular passion for turning complex technical and operational information into clear, visual and memorable learning experiences that make a real difference to learners.
As Learning & Development Manager at UKRA, Helen leads the Digital Design & Development (D3) Team and is responsible for the organisation’s digital learning technologies, multimedia development and learning innovation. She has played a leading role in modernising learning delivery through the implementation of the Thinqi LMS, AccessPlanIt CMS and a SharePoint-based intranet, helping to improve both learner experience and operational efficiency.
Helen enjoys exploring new technologies and creative approaches to learning, using tools such as Articulate 365, Vyond, Synthesia and Adobe Creative Cloud to develop engaging digital content. She is particularly interested in blended learning, accessibility, user experience and finding innovative ways to support people in developing their knowledge and skills.
Working closely with colleagues, subject matter experts and stakeholders across the organisation, Helen is committed to continually improving learning systems and quality, ensuring that learning remains relevant, accessible and engaging for all audiences. She is also an active member of a number of professional learning and technology communities, helping her stay at the forefront of emerging trends and best practice in digital learning.
When she’s not designing learning solutions, Helen can usually be found reading or immersed in a creative project. An enthusiastic crafter, she enjoys everything from cross-stitch and jewellery making to upholstery and weaving, and is kept thoroughly entertained by her two cats. As she likes to say: “There’s always something new to learn, create or improve.”
